Thompsons are one of Ireland's most renowned and respected Funeral Directors who have been serving the needs of Waterford City and County for over 225 years. We are founder members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a past President of the Association.

We have a reputation for providing a professional, high quality service and many of our client families have been seeking our services for generations. We conduct our business in a sensitive, dignified and efficient manner, allowing peace of mind to bereaved families.

We conduct funerals for all religious denominations and provide a complete repatriation service. Always at the forefront of the Funeral Industry, in 2011 Thompson's became the first Funeral Directors in the World to launch a dedicated iPhone app and in 2013 became the first Funeral Director in Ireland, and one of the few in the World, to acheive the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

Mrs. Rita Phelan (nee Doyle), Manor Lawn, Waterford, who died on Saturday, 15th April, 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Sunday at 7.15pm to St. Paul's Church. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 10.30. Funeral afterwards to St. Otteran's Cemetery.

Thomas Lowe

Thomas Lowe, Boatstrand, Co. Waterford, who died on Thursday 13th April, 2017. Removal from Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Sunday, 23rd April, at 6:30pm to Dunhill Church. Requiem Mass on Monday at 11:30am. Funeral afterwards to Christ Church Cemetery, Tramore. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Trocaire.

Mary Hearne née Wallace

Mary Hearne née Wallace, Ballybeg Court, Ballybeg, Waterford, who died on Tuesday, 18th April, 2017. Reposing at her residence from 5pm until 8pm on Thursday with rosary at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 10am in Ballybricken Church followed by Cremation in the Island Crematorium, Cork at 1.30pm. No flowers by request, donations in lieu to Waterford Hospice Home Care Team.

Michael Fraher

Michael Fraher, 40 The Folly, Waterford, who died on Sunday, April 16th, 2017. Reposing at his residence on Monday from 4pm until 8pm. House private at all other times. Funeral walking from his residence to the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly on Tuesday for requiem Mass on arrival at 1:30pm. Funeral afterwards to St. Killian's Cemetery, Ferrybank. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Waterford Hospice Home Care.
