Thompsons are one of Ireland's most renowned and respected Funeral Directors who have been serving the needs of Waterford City and County for over 225 years. We are founder members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a past President of the Association.

We have a reputation for providing a professional, high quality service and many of our client families have been seeking our services for generations. We conduct our business in a sensitive, dignified and efficient manner, allowing peace of mind to bereaved families.

We conduct funerals for all religious denominations and provide a complete repatriation service. Always at the forefront of the Funeral Industry, in 2011 Thompson's became the first Funeral Directors in the World to launch a dedicated iPhone app and in 2013 became the first Funeral Director in Ireland, and one of the few in the World, to acheive the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

Mary Stephens

Mrs. Mary Stephens nee O Neill, Shortcourse, Waterford and formerly of Doyle Street, who died on Wednesday, 21st September, 2016. Reposing at her residence on Friday from 5pm until 7pm. House private at all other times. Removal from her residence on Saturday at 9:30am (walking) to Ballybricken Church for Requiem Mass on arrival at 10:00am. Funeral afterwards to St. Otteran’s cemetery.

Peter Stewart

Peter Stewart, Ballyscanlon, Fenor, Tramore, Co. Waterford, who died on Sunday, September 18th, 2016. Reposing at his residence on Thursday from 3pm until 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am in Fenor Church. Followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Solas Centre. House private on Friday morning.

Hannah Murray

Mrs. Hannah Murray nee Minogue, Kennedy Park, Tramore, Co. Waterford, and formerly of Knocktopher, Co. Kilkenny, who died on Friday, 16th September, 2016. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Sunday at 6.15pm to the Holy Cross Church, Tramore. Requiem Mass on Monday at 10am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Marion Bolger

Marion Bolger, Rockfield Park, Waterford, and Cork, who died on Friday, September 16th, 2016. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Sunday at 4.30pm to the Cathedral. Requiem Mass on Monday at 12.30pm. Funeral afterwards to Kilbeacon Cemetery, Mullinavat. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to Waterford Hospice.
