Thompsons are one of Ireland's most renowned and respected Funeral Directors who have been serving the needs of Waterford City and County for over 225 years. We are founder members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a past President of the Association.

We have a reputation for providing a professional, high quality service and many of our client families have been seeking our services for generations. We conduct our business in a sensitive, dignified and efficient manner, allowing peace of mind to bereaved families.

We conduct funerals for all religious denominations and provide a complete repatriation service. Always at the forefront of the Funeral Industry, in 2011 Thompson's became the first Funeral Directors in the World to launch a dedicated iPhone app and in 2013 became the first Funeral Director in Ireland, and one of the few in the World, to acheive the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

John Patrick Kelly

John Patrick Kelly, Elm Park, Tramore, Co. Waterford, late of CTI, Parnell Street, Waterford, and formerly of Ballymore, Co. Westmeath, who died on January 12th, 2017. Reposing at his residence on Friday from 4pm until 8pm. House private at all other times. Funeral arriving to the Holy Cross Church, Tramore, on Saturday for Requiem Mass on arrival at 10o’c. Burial afterwards in St. Declan’s Cemetery, Riverstown, Tramore.

Anne (Nancy) McCabe

Mrs. Anne (Nancy) McCabe nee Revilles, St. John’s Park, Waterford, who died on Friday, 13th January, 2017. Removal from Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Saturday at 7:30pm to the Sacred Heart Church, The Folly. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 12:30am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner.

Elizabeth (Betty) O'Brien

Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) O'Brien nee Kavanagh, Shanaclune, Dunhill, Co. Waterford and formerly of Peter Street, Tramore, who died on Friday, 13th January, 2017. Reposing at her residence on Sunday from 3pm until 7pm. Requiem Mass on Monday at 11:00am in Dunhill Church. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Richard Keane

Mr. Richard Keane, St. Aiden's Ward, St. Otteran's Hospital, Waterford, and late of Arundel Square, who died on Thursday, 5th January, 2017. Loving and much loved brother of John (Dublin), sadly missed by his loving family, sister-in-law Mary, nieces, nephews, relative and friends. R.I.P. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Saturday at 10.15am to St. Senan's Church, Kilmacow, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
