Thompsons are one of Ireland's most renowned and respected Funeral Directors who have been serving the needs of Waterford City and County for over 225 years. We are founder members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a past President of the Association.

We have a reputation for providing a professional, high quality service and many of our client families have been seeking our services for generations. We conduct our business in a sensitive, dignified and efficient manner, allowing peace of mind to bereaved families.

We conduct funerals for all religious denominations and provide a complete repatriation service. Always at the forefront of the Funeral Industry, in 2011 Thompson's became the first Funeral Directors in the World to launch a dedicated iPhone app and in 2013 became the first Funeral Director in Ireland, and one of the few in the World, to acheive the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Sunday, 26th June, from 7 o’c until 8.30 o’c. Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Ballygunner, Waterford, on Monday, 27th June, at 11 o’c. Followed by private cremation. Family flowers only.

Paul Walsh

Paul Walsh, Philip Street & late of Passage East & formerly of Hibernian Football Club, Waterford City, who died on Friday, June 24th, 2016. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Saturday at 6.15pm to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 11.30am followed by burial in St. Otteran's Cemetery.

Martin Barry

Martin Barry, Barrack Street, Waterford, who died on Friday, 24th June, 2016. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Sunday at 6:15pm to the Holy Family Church. Requiem Mass on Monday at 11:00am. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballygunner.

Jack Hogan

Mr. Jack Hogan, Dentist, Bawnfune, Butlerstown, Co. Waterford, who died on Thursday, 23rd June, 2016. Removal from Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Friday at 6:30pm to Butlerstown Church. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11:30am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
