Thompsons were Founder Members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a Past-President of the Association.
Thompsons are Members of the National Association of Funeral Directors, one of the World's largest Associations of professional Funeral Directors.
Three of Thompson's personnel are fully qualified members of the British Institute of Embalmers.
Thompsons are the only Funeral Directors in Ireland, and one of only a few in the World, to achieve the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

Reposing at Mooncoin Residential Care Centre on Thursday from 5.30pm with Prayers at 6.30pm followed by Removal to Mooncoin Church. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Kitty Devine nee Flanagan, Castle Terrace, Waterford, and late of Convent Hill, who died on Sunday 1st October, 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Tuesday at 6.15pm to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 10am in Ballybricken Church. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Patrick Noblett, Galway, and formerly of Hennessy’s Road, Waterford, who died on Wednesday 27th September, 2017. Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Friday 29th September, 2017, from 8pm until 9pm with prayers at 8.30pm. Followed by private cremation.
Martin Carroll, Closegate, Waterford City, who died on Tuesday, 26th September, 2017. Reposing at Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Thursday from 6.30oc until 7.30oc with prayers at 7.00oc. Requiem Mass on Friday at 10.00oc in St. John's Church followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballygunner.
