Thompsons are one of Ireland's most renowned and respected Funeral Directors who have been serving the needs of Waterford City and County for over 225 years. We are founder members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a past President of the Association.

We have a reputation for providing a professional, high quality service and many of our client families have been seeking our services for generations. We conduct our business in a sensitive, dignified and efficient manner, allowing peace of mind to bereaved families.

We conduct funerals for all religious denominations and provide a complete repatriation service. Always at the forefront of the Funeral Industry, in 2011 Thompson's became the first Funeral Directors in the World to launch a dedicated iPhone app and in 2013 became the first Funeral Director in Ireland, and one of the few in the World, to acheive the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

John Carroll

John Carroll, Luffany & Mooncoin Residential Care Centre, Mooncoin, Kilkenny, who died on Tuesday, 29th November, 2016. Removal from Mooncoin Residental Care Centre on Wednesday, 30th November, at 6.30pm to Carrigeen Church. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Sr. Odile de Ste Gertrude

Sr. Odile de Ste Gertrude (nee Bridget Deane), St. Joseph's Home, Little Sisters of the Poor, Ferrybank, Waterford, who died on Wednesday 23rd November, 2016. Reposing in the Mortuary Chapel, St. Joseph's Home, followed by Reception into the Convent Chapel on Thursday at 5pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 10.30am. Funeral afterwards to Piltown Cemetery.

Frank Walsh

Frank Walsh, Philip Street, Waterford, and late of the Munster Express who died on Friday, 25th November, 2016. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford, on Sunday evening at 6.15pm to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass on Monday at 10am. Burial afterwards in Slieverue Cemetery.

Kevin O'Donnell

Mr. Kevin O'Donnell, Kilronan, Butlerstown, Co. Waterford, who died on Friday 25th November, 2016. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Tuesday morning at 11.30am to Butlerstown Church for Requiem Mass on arrival at 12 noon. Followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
