Thompsons are one of Ireland's most renowned and respected Funeral Directors who have been serving the needs of Waterford City and County for over 225 years. We are founder members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and John Thompson is a past President of the Association.

We have a reputation for providing a professional, high quality service and many of our client families have been seeking our services for generations. We conduct our business in a sensitive, dignified and efficient manner, allowing peace of mind to bereaved families.

We conduct funerals for all religious denominations and provide a complete repatriation service. Always at the forefront of the Funeral Industry, in 2011 Thompson's became the first Funeral Directors in the World to launch a dedicated iPhone app and in 2013 became the first Funeral Director in Ireland, and one of the few in the World, to acheive the ISO9001:2008 Quality Management Standard.

Reposing at Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, on Sunday from 7pm until 8pm with prayers at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Monday at 10.30am in the Cathedral. Funeral afterwards to Fenor Cemetery.

Bridie Power

Bridie Power, Slievekeale Road & formerly Browns Lane, Waterford City, who died on Thursday, 22nd June, 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street on Friday at 5.30oc to Ballybricken Church. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 10.00oc followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Crumlin Childrens Hospital, Dublin.

Michael Drohan

Michael Drohan, Tir Connell Avenue, Lismore Lawn & late of Congress Place, Waterford City, who died on Thursday 22nd June, 2017. Removal from Thompson's Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford on Saturday at 7.00oc to St. Paul's Church, Lisduggan, Waterford. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 1.30pm followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballygunner, Waterford.

Jasmine Halligan

Jasmine Halligan, Gracedieu Heights, Waterford City, who died on Wednesday, 21st June, 2017. Reposing at her residence on Thursday from 5.00oc until 8.00oc, house private at all other times please. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11.00oc in St. Saviour's Church, Ballybeg, Waterford, burial afterwards in Kilbarry Cemetery.
